5 Tips To Boost Your Body Confidence
Body confidence can feel like an uphill battle when all of our lives we are met with ideas of what we “should” look like to be beautiful.
Magazines, movies, modelling competitions and even schools teaching us unrealistic standards.
So while we are huge advocates for looking after your health and wellness with exercise and great food - being confident in your body isn’t about a certain number on the scale, or the number on the tag of your favourite jeans.
Misery loves company and humans connect through commiserating with our peers.
I’m sure this conversation has played out in your own friendship circles:
“Oh I hate my thighs” followed by “At least you can cover yours! Look at my tuck shop arms”.
We engage in this cycle and can often come from a place of seeking validation and confirmation that we aren’t alone in our resentment of our bodies. A common enemy is an easy thing to connect over.
But how devastating that our bodies have become the enemy?
The vessel that holds all that we are.
The vessel that carries children and births.
The vessel that is with us through every win and every failure.
The vessel that experiences indescribable pleasure. And indescribable pain.
How amazing our bodies are - without the physical appearance even coming into the equation.
Let's look at 5 ways to boost your body confidence.
1. Dry Body Brushing.
This is a beautiful daily practice that allows you to connect with each and every part of you. It’s wonderful for activating your lymphatic drainage system, flushing toxins, moving stagnant energy & reducing fluid retention which can aid in feeling less bloated. It boosts energy and removes dead skin cells which leaves you feeling glowy and gorgeous.
Taking this time for yourself before every shower allows you to inspect your body, appreciate your body and give gratitude to your body.
When you’re practicing gratitude on a consistent basis, you start to see the beauty in things rather than the flaws. This will lead to you feeling more confident and empowered in your body, and proud of what it’s supported you through so far.
2. Self Massage.
This falls into the self pleasure category of things, it’s so important to make yourself feel good! When you feel good in your body it rolls off you in waves. Slapping on some moisturiser and getting on with your day is a very different experience to using an indulgent body oil and massaging it into all areas of your body, hydrating and nourishing your skin. Using this time to appreciate the way your skin feels, again, giving gratitude for what your body has carried you through thus far in your life.
3. Work With A Personal Stylist.
Whether it’s watching reels and YouTube videos or working with someone more intimately, understanding your body type and dressing accordingly with shapes, cuts and colours that compliment your body shape and skin tone will change the way you feel about yourself and the way that others perceive you. When you feel polished and put together, you ooze confidence.

4. Journaling, EFT Tapping & Affirmations.
Journaling is a great way to explore why we feel the way we do about certain things, it’s a great way to analyse the beliefs we have and understand where they come from - and if they are even serving us. It’s a great way to bring attention to the things you’re grateful for and uncovering ways your own intuition is guiding you to connect with yourself on a deeper level. You can follow up your journaling practice with EFT.
EFT is emotional freedom technique. You tap on different parts of your body to move energy and rewire neural pathways to solidify new beliefs. It’s a pretty incredible practice and works instantly too. It works on the meridian lines within your body, much like acupuncture without the needles. You can address different things that have come up for you in your journaling session such as beliefs you hold, and shift them through EFT and embody a new belief that you can take forward into your day. Using this practice daily for 10-15 minutes can dramatically change your life.
Further to this, repeating affirmations in the mirror while you are looking at your body will help you to embrace all of the beautiful parts of you.
Writing your affirmations down, repeating them to yourself when you’re getting dressed, driving or walking. You could even record them into your phone and listen to them as a meditation.
5. Wear Underwear That Makes You Feel Good.
It doesn’t have to be expensive lingerie or lacy sets but choosing underwear in a cut that feels comfortable and flattering for you. Choosing a fabric that feels nice against your skin and doesn’t upset your yoni. Wearing a bra that has been fitted correctly and is the right style for the clothing you’re wearing. These little details can make all the difference to the way that you feel when you’re putting an outfit together. And ultimately the way that you feel about your body.
If you’re wearing underwear that cuts in and rides up, you aren’t going to feel great. You’re going to look in the mirror and see bulges in places that feel unflattering and it leads to more negative thoughts. Babe, the problem isn’t you or your body. Those undies suck & they are probably the wrong size so chuck them out and buy ones that look and feel good.
HOT TIP: If you buy multiple sets of underwear that are the same colour - you will always feel like you have your life together with matching bra and undies - even if no one else is seeing them! You will know. And that matters.
