How it feels
The paddle delivers a firm, controlled impact that can be built slowly. It brings heat to the skin and anchors you in the body.
The pinwheel is a different story; it’s a little spicy and tingly, dancing across the surface of your skin.
When you explore contrasting sensation the body starts to anticipate and open.
How to use
Start by setting the tone. This can be playful, slow, curious or a little bit daring.
Use the paddle for rhythmic impact on areas like the thighs, hips or bum. Begin gently and build intensity as desired.
Run the pinwheel lightly across the skin, tracing lines, patterns or unexpected paths. Vary the pressure to explore different sensations.
Switch between the two and keep the body guessing.
Practices to explore…
Solo sensation exploration
Use the pinwheel or paddle on your own body, slowly and with curiosity. See if you can follow any trails of desire that arise, exploring new areas or sensations. Notice what feels grounding, what feels activating, and what helps you drop into your body. Use your favourite body oil (we recommend our luxurious Yinn Body Oil) to close with a loving and nurturing massage moment.
Communication practice
Take turns guiding the experience, the only rule; you have to ask for what you want. One person uses the tools, the other gives real-time feedback. Slower. Softer. Harder. Stay in conversation and notice how your body responds when you ask for what you actually want. This is an exciting and connecting practice that rewards expression.
Partnered sensation exploration
Start by removing expectations, the next 30 minutes is all about sensory exploration without a goal. This practice is all about following sensation and staying with the moment. The receiver is invited to immerse themselves in sensation. The giver uses the pinwheel and paddle to guide a sensory experience, focusing on tuning into their partner's reactions and the language of their body. Bring your attention to what you feel or notice, not what is coming next. Let your body lead the experience.
