Amy Louise
At The New Normal Sexology, we believe that sexual wellness is an essential part of overall well-being. Founded by Amy Louise, a qualified counseling sexologist, holistic counselor, and yoga instructor, our practice offers a safe, inclusive, and compassionate space for individuals looking to deepen their connection with their bodies, relationships, and pleasure.
Amy’s career began in social work, where she spent years supporting vulnerable communities, particularly in intergenerational trauma as well as, domestic and intimate partner violence. This deep engagement with trauma-informed care shaped her approach to holistic counseling, emphasising safety, compassion, and empowerment. Over time, her work naturally evolved toward psycho-sexology, recognising the critical link between trauma, body awareness, and sexual well-being.
Her approach is rooted in evidence-based sexology, embodied counselling techniques, and holistic therapies. The New Normal Sexology offers:
Psycho-Sexology & Holistic Counselling:
Amy provides trauma-informed, sex-positive counselling to support individuals and couples navigating challenges such as painful sex (vaginismus, dyspareunia), desire issues, body confidence, erectile difficulties, dating struggles, and relationship concerns. Whether you're looking to overcome past experiences, explore new aspects of your sexuality, or simply cultivate a more fulfilling intimate life, counselling sexology sessions are designed to meet you where you are.
Womb Therapy Yoga
As a certified yoga instructor, Amy integrates movement, pranayama, and meditation into her yoga therapy sessions to support emotional and sexual healing. Womb therapy yoga practice helps individuals reconnect with their cyclical nature, ease menstrual discomfort, and cultivate deeper self-awareness. Whether you're experiencing pain related to endometriosis, IBS, PCOS, bloating, or seeking a more embodied relationship with your sexuality, these practices offer gentle yet powerful support.
Amy's practice is inclusive of all genders, sexual orientations, and relationship styles. The New Normal Sexology is LGBTQIA+ affirming and passionate about creating a world where pleasure is recognised as a birthright, not a luxury.
Amy practice is based in South Fremantle, Perth and also offer online appointments for your convenience. She is registered with Australian Counselling Association and is a member of the Society of Australian Sexologists.
