Feminine energy is cyclical, not linear.

You may notice that you feel different throughout your Menstrual Cycle.

Something that women have not been taught is that we are actually supposed to.

Have you ever wondered why some days feel flowy, energetic and more productive?

Other days you’re pulling inwards, you’re slower and can’t show up like you did last week?

It’s your female biology needing awareness, your cyclical rhythm asking to be honoured,

and you’re allowed to listen. Learning to work with these natural shifts make you feminine,

they make you embodied, and connecting to this cyclical nature makes you powerful.

The modern world has taught women to ignore the signs that our body is communicating

to us, burn ourselves out and operate at the same pace every day to be successful.

One of the most incredible things that we can do for ourselves as women is to understand

our Menstrual Cycle and allow this knowledge and wisdom to empower us.

Women have a 28 – 35 day (approximately) Menstrual Cycle.

Within the Menstrual Cycle are four different phases:

Menstruation Phase

Follicular Phase

Ovulation Phase

Luteal Phase

Women are deeply connected to nature.

We have an inner season that mirrors each outer season.

Inner Seasons

  Inner Winter (Menstruation Phase)

3 - 7 days

Menstruation is a time to pause. You are allowed to be still.

Progesterone begins to decline with Oestrogen as you begin to bleed.

Your body wants to retreat, to reflect and to rest.

Slow down and surrender to what your body needs. Allow yourself to release.

Shed anything that doesn’t need to be brought into this next cycle.

Be with yourself and be with your womb.

Inner Spring (Follicular Phase)

7 – 10 days

Enjoy this delicate rise in energy and allow yourself to rebirth.

Oestrogen begins to increase in preparation for Ovulation.

Your vibrance, confidence and expression has arrived.

Launch the creative project, book the heels class, attend the workshop, try something new,

and spend time with people who light you up.

Dance your way through spring and renew yourself.

Inner Summer (Ovulation Phase)

3 - 4 days

A rose blooms when she is ready and not a moment too soon.

Oestrogen and Testosterone reach their peak and it’s time to bloom.

Awaken your feminine energy. Your sensual, social, and sacred self.

Schedule the meeting, go on the date night, play the gig, communicate your needs.

Use your voice, it’s the most powerful during this season.

Take this opportunity to maximise your outward energy.

Inner Autumn (Luteal Phase)

10 - 14 days

As your energy begins to dip, listen to this inward pull.

Progesterone increases and Oestrogen is produced in smaller amounts.

Be gentle with yourself and begin to slow down again. Lean into receiving.

Prioritise rest, say no, create space, be patient with yourself.

Connect with the earth. Let her ground you. There’s no rush.

Like in Autumn preparing for Winter, allow the cycle to unfold again.

Somewhere along the way we’ve gotten lost, but this wisdom was always there.

It’s a reclamation of our needs, our voices, our desires, and our power.

Learning how to support ourselves through the seasons of the feminine allows us to

embrace this sacred cyclical nature. When women create harmony and balance between

these inner seasons we can come home to ourselves, our bodies and our wisdom.

Exactly as we are designed to be.

Watch yourself bloom as you honour your needs in each inner season.

With warmth,
Michaela Sheehy
