Meet Emily Matthews

Emily Matthews

Emily Matthews is a holistic sex coach, educator, and embodiment practitioner who works online with women and vulva havers around the world, ready to stop performing and start feeling.

At the heart of Emily's work is a simple belief: that your body is not the problem. Whether clients come to her carrying decades of shame, a subtle sense that something is "off" in their intimacy, or a desire to finally understand what they actually want, Emily meets them exactly where they are, with warmth, zero judgment, and a whole lot of practical support.

Emily's signature approach, the Pleasure Portal Process, weaves together somatic tools, body safety practices, and the kind of honest, unhurried conversation most people have never had about sex. Sessions are as much about nervous system regulation and emotional safety as they are about desire, because real pleasure isn't just physical. It lives in how safe we feel, how clearly we can ask for what we want, and how much permission we've given ourselves to want it at all.

Emily holds a 500-hour certification as an Integrative Sex Coach and Sex Educator, trained under a somatic sexologist and medical doctor (OB/GYN), a combination that brings both clinical rigour and deep body-based wisdom to her practice. Her broader training spans emotional clearing, trauma-informed self holding, and feminine embodiment practice. But it's her lived experience of navigating shame, disconnection, and the slow, tender work of reconnecting to desire that truly shapes how she holds space for clients.

When she's not in session, you'll find her in the garden, baking, or curled up with her dog and a very spicy book. For those in Melbourne, she also hosts in-person monthly meetups through the Pleasure Pages Collective, a women's smut book club that's exactly as fun as it sounds.

If you've been waiting for someone who will take your pleasure seriously, without taking themselves too seriously, Emily might just be your person.

"Before working with Emily, I was resisting receiving and doing it all on my own — not asking for help, not letting myself be supported. I came wanting to go deeper in my connection to my body, and what I found was a safe, non-judgmental space where I could truly open up and let myself unravel. Since working together, I've found clearer communication with my partner — asking for what I want and need with so much less guilt. I have more clarity around what I actually need and want, and a deeper understanding of my body. But honestly, what surprised me most was how this work extended beyond sex entirely. I started going for what I want in life, trusting I'll be supported, and celebrating myself more — even the tiny wins. I feel all women would benefit from coaching with Emily. I looked forward to every session knowing there was no pressure, but that I'd gain so much from it. All women need space to be witnessed, to express, and to explore their body — under the guidance of a woman who fully embodies her work." — Kat
"Before working with Emily I was experiencing burnout, low libido, and pain during intercourse — and carrying a lot of guilt and concern around it. I knew things had felt off, and even though saying yes felt a little scary, I just knew it was exactly what I needed. The whole experience has been so supportive. Emily has so much knowledge and really knows how to deliver it in a digestible way, while making you feel completely seen and supported. It's helped my relationship because I now feel safe to be open. The pressure has lifted, the shame has eased, and I'm physically feeling better in my body — less pain, more ease. The nervous system tools in particular have been incredible. It's also shifted how I see pleasure — it doesn't have to be orgasm-related. It can be as simple as a walk in nature. If you're considering taking the leap, you have that nudge for a reason. I can't recommend Emily highly enough." — Nikki
"I came to Emily at a time when I felt like I didn't even need coaching — and that first session showed me exactly how much I did. I was navigating a separation, trying to make sense of my desire, and after years of always supporting other women, I finally gave myself permission to receive support too. Working with Emily felt like jumping on a call with your best friend — except you get to dive into all the taboo, and everything is met with celebration and acceptance. There was structure and embodiment practices without it ever feeling rigid. What surprised me most was how much I moved through in just three sessions. I released my old lover, and the very next day I met the love of my life — and without even trying, I naturally wanted to wait. I actually had the patience and the choice. That felt huge. If you're sitting on the edge of saying yes — just know, sometimes you don't realise how much you need it until you're in it." — Sophie
